The UK uses the most water in Europe when flushing toilets and urinals. The EU wants to introduce a European standard to curb the amount of water being used.

The proposal would see toilets get an "EU Ecolabel" if they use no more than 3.5 litres per flush and urinals would get one if they use under a litre.
