Metsa Sustainability Awards Finalist

3 March 2023
We are delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for a Metsa Tissue Sustainability Award, in the category of Carbon Reducer.

Metsa founded their awards, in partnership with the Cleaning and Services Support Association, following the recent pandemic, to highlight the need to keep essential cleaning services as sustainable as possible. Their aim is bringing about an increased focus on sustainability in all its forms e.g. carbon reduction, positive impacts on society, use of renewable energy, use of technology, and examples of the circular economy. They hope it will generate a lot of interest and result in a positive momentum that will drive more Environmental, Social & Governance initiatives to help support the future of our world.

Metsa said “With the glaring focus on Sustainability, it is incumbent on all of us within the Cleaning and Hygiene industry not just to ‘do our bit’, but also to recognise those who are leading the way in best practice, and/or going ‘above and beyond’ to promote and embrace sustainability.”

Over the past 3 years the subtle improvements Evans have been making have produced a 28% reduction in our carbon emissions. Vikki Morris, our environment and sustainability manager, said “This is obviously a full team effort so a massive thank you to everyone. Team Evans will continue our efforts and carry on improving in all areas of the business.”

The awards are being run to coincide with The Cleaning Show in London, ensuring the least amount of travel for companies already in the capital. Vikki will be in attendance at the awards, along with our professional hygiene manager, Nicky Biggart. This achievement is great recognition for everyone’s hard work to reduce emissions throughout the business, further helped by being a member of Planet Mark for four years running.
