Government Trade Mission to South East Asia

3 September 2015

Evans Vanodine has joined the Prime Minister David Cameron and Business Secretary Sajid Javid on a trade mission to Singapore and Malaysia, aiming to rebalance the economy and attract overseas investment.

The visit is part of the governments Northern Powerhouse initiative to strengthen business in the north of the UK. The Prime Minister and Business Secretary are leading the first trade mission, taking 62 northern companies to Singapore and Malaysia, underlining the government’s commitment to the creation of a Northern Powerhouse. The delegation represents a total turnover in excess of £10 billion, with a combined workforce of over 50,000.

Evans Vanodine was invited to take part on the mission as one of the UK’s most successful companies in the North, evidenced recently by our Queen’s Award win.

Peter Thompson, Evans’ International Sales Manager, is currently in Singapore meeting with new potential janitorial distributors, as well as attending a reception at the High Commissioner’s house and an international trade seminar run by UK Trade and Investment, where the PM made a speech.

Peter will continue on the trade mission to Malaysia and will then finish his trip in Korea where he will be meeting up with Evans’ South East Asian Sales Manager, Dr Freddie Yu.
