Global Handwashing Day 2013

14 October 2013
In recognition of Global Handwashing Day on the 15th October, Edward and Emily visited St Mary’s Primary School in Eccleston to give a handwashing lesson to both infants and juniors.
The day turned out to be a great success. The children and teachers joined in the fun and were rewarded with stickers and posters to help carry on the good work.

Handwashing with soap is the most effective & inexpensive way to prevent diarrheal & acute respiratory infections, which take the lives of millions of children in developing countries. Our aim is to encourage children to wash their hands correctly using soap, making this routine an ingrained habit.

The day was originally created for children and schools but can be celebrated by anyone promoting handwashing with soap.
