PLANET MARK – Certified Year 5

04 April 2024

Evans Vanodine has retained Planet Mark certification for another year, achieving year 5 of reducing our carbon footprint.

In the past year, we have accomplished an amazing reduction of 11.7% in our carbon footprint. This fantastic achievement by the whole team at Evans, means we have reached a 35% carbon reduction overall in the last 5 years.

Some highlights in our improvements this year include swapping out the lighting in our premises for energy efficient LED lights, better controls in our heating systems, and the temperatures they are set at, and utilising less water. We have also had a reduction in our fleet emissions, by switching all our company cars to either plug in hybrid or full electric.

Planet Mark is a voluntary sustainability certification for all types of organisations. The certification is based on continuous improvement and encourages action to make a difference. It helps to strengthen our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, and contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and set credible targets aligned with Science Based Target initiatives (SBTi) global Net-Zero Standard.

Steve Malkin, Founder and CEO of Planet Mark, said “Congratulations to Evans Vanodine on a great set of carbon reduction results this year. The team takes a holistic view of its carbon footprint and aims to reduce its footprint across all its operations. This is the kind of approach we need to sustainability, one that takes responsibility throughout the value chain. Evans Vanodine is doing fantastic work in reducing its carbon footprint, and I hope this continues in the future.”

Vikki Morris, our Environment and Sustainability Manager, said about our most recent certification, “At Evans Vanodine, environment and sustainability is a priority in our decision-making processes. We are proud to have recently achieved our year 5 certification with Planet Mark, through our dedication to decreasing our carbon footprint whilst continuing to produce optimum products. With the assistance of Planet Mark and the accessibility to their tools, this has been possible.”

Our targeted areas of improvements for the coming year, are to reduce the amounts of paper we use and the waste we produce, as well as increasing our recycling levels.
