Lord Lieutenant's Official Presentation

Lord Lieutenant's Official Presentation

22nd October 2015

Evans Vanodine has been celebrating the official presentation of its Queen’s Award, which took place at our factory in Preston recently.

The presentation was made by the Queen’s personal representative in Lancashire, the Lord-Lieutenant, Lord Shuttleworth. The event was also attended by The Mayor of South Ribble, Councillor Mrs Mary Green, and by Karen Holden, UK Trade and Industry advisor.

After a tour of the factory, where Lord Shuttleworth was able to see the laboratories and filling lines in action and talk to members of staff, the party proceeded to the canteen for the presentation ceremony. All factory and office staff were in attendance, along with the company directors, to whom Lord Shuttleworth made a short address, before presenting the Award to Peter Evans, Managing Director.

Lord Shuttleworth said “This award is not for the directors or shareholders, this award is for each and every staff member who has contributed to the success of the company and to this achievement today.” He also commented on the longevity of the staff, many of whom have worked at Evans for over 25 years, with some even approaching 40 and 50 year milestones.

Peter Thompson, International Division Manager thanked the Lord-Lieutenant and said “Evans is a company where exporting is in its blood. To be successful in international trade, a company must invest in its people and its systems and we are very proud to do both at Evans Vanodine, which enables us to take advantage of the huge opportunities that exporting can offer.”

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is recognised as Britain’s most coveted prize for business success. The Award has been received in the category of International Trade, which is recognition of Evans Vanodine’s outstanding overseas sales growth over the last three years.

Each Queen’s Award is conferred by a Grant of Appointment, signed by The Queen and Prime Minister, and is symbolised by the presentation of a crystal bowl. Evans Vanodine can use the Awards emblem on their merchandise and literature for the next 5 years.
