My name is Luke Smith, this year's Chairman, and I am proud to be involved with such a great fundraising organization. Lytham 130 was the 130th Round Table to be formed in Britain and Ireland back in 1938, only 11 years after the organization had originally been formed in Norwich. We don't have funny handshakes or sayings, we are completely open about what we do, i.e. we get together, have a few drinks, some lively discussion, raise some money and give it to local charities. We come from various different walks of life, meaning that you don't get a group of people all from the same sort of business. Lytham 130 is the local Round Table for the Lytham St. Annes area on the coast of Lancashire in the North West of England. The area is well known for its Top Quality Golf Courses, The Open Golf Championship was held at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club from 19th to 22nd July 2001, and the Ladies Weetabix Open will be held there this year at the end of July. We have around 15 members, and meet at 7.30pm on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of every month. For our meetings where we discuss the business involved in Round Table - how we raise money and which charities to receive money - we usually meet in The Lindum Hotel in St. Annes, but we regularly have outside visits. If you are male, visiting, live or work in the Lytham St.Annes area, between the ages of 18 & 45, and would like to find out what we do, or get involved with raising money for the local community and enjoy yourself at the same time, please get in touch and come along to a meeting.
